This simple bottle form can be found in pottery traditions all around the world. I throw these on my foot powered treadle wheel, which gives them a loose and less uniform feel. I like soft curves in this form, and it works very well to show off an individual flower bud.
Our stoneware is fired to 2350° Fahrenheit, and is completely water tight. However, if you’re placing a water filled vase of flowers on a piece of fine furniture, please put a cork or woven mat underneath it to protect your furniture from any condensation that may form.
